Obituary of Marie Heimpel

<h1>Marie Heimpel</h1> 1914 – 2006 After a long and full life, Marie died on Tuesday, September 12, 2006, at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre in Waterloo. She was 91. She is survived by her loving niece Marilyn Ogram and her husband Bruce of Elmira and their family. She was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by three brothers; Bill and his wife Edna, Addison and is wife Dorothy, one in infancy and her parents, Salome (Schmitt) and William Heimpel. Marie was a longtime and faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Waterloo and the ELW. For many years, she worked as a hairdresser at Zarnke Hair Salon in Kitchener and then was self employed. Marie loved to travel to many destinations around the world with her friends and relatives. Friends are invited to share their memories of Marie with her family at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 p.m. The service to celebrate Marie’s life and faith will be held at in the chapel of St. John’s Lutheran Church, on Friday, September 15, 2006, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Val Henning officiating. Immediately following the service, friends and relatives are invited to remain at the church for refreshments and a time to visit. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Erbsville. In memory of Marie, donations to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and may be arranged through the funeral home. In living memory of Marie, a tree will be planted through the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
