<h1>Margaret Kechnie</h1> nee Muratzke 1914 – 2006 Margaret Kechnie was born April 22, 1914 in Berlin (Kitchener). She passed away Monday, September 11, 2006, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, at 92 years. Her husband, Grant Edward, predeceased her May 31, 2004. She is the honoured matriarch of a loving extended family of 65 from humble beginnings on Cameron Street. Her children are the late Ronald (Lovada) of Waterloo; David (Margaret) of Sudbury; Douglas (Donna) of Waterloo; Margaret (Karl) Nowak of Sault Ste Marie; Helen (Job) Priddle of Kingston; Gordon (Carolyn) of Listowel. She was predeceased by her parents, Emil and Emma (nee Lippert) Muratzke. Margaret was the 3rd of 5 siblings: the late Alvina Zinkhann, Percy, Gertie (Harold) Vogt; and Herb (Evelyn). She is admired by 16 grandchildren and their families: Valerie (Jeffrey) Kechnie-Young, Gini (Perry) Kechnie-Williams, Paul; Grant A., Graham (Andraya Frith), Jennifer; Jeff (Tamara), Ian, Darryl; Kurt (Lynn), Erik (Annelise) Nowak; Colin, Jonathan, Grant (Kendra) Priddle; Karol Ann (Martin) Kechnie-Tourigny, Karla (Chris Harnack) Kechnie. Grandmother was blessed with 17 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. A life-long resident of Kitchener, Margaret and Grant lived on Birch Avenue. They were members of Kitchener Gospel Temple. After raising a family Margaret worked in retail for several years retiring from management at Reitmans. She spent the last 4 years at The Village of Winston Park Retirement Home. Friends are invited to share their memories of Margaret with her family at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Friday, September 15, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held at Kitchener Gospel Temple, 9 Conway Drive, Kitchener, on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 11 a.m., with The Rev. Job Priddle officiating. Reception will immediately follow at the church. Interment in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Breslau.
