<h1>Dr. Derick Wood</h1>
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at Sunnyside Home on Monday, October 04, 2010 at the age of 70.
Derick is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Mary Chen, his step-sons Calvin (Jorcelyn) Wang and Charlton (Grace) Wang, as well as his four grandchildren Tessa, Dylan, Hannah and Hope. He will also be remembered by his 2 nieces Deborah Ash and Sharon Phillips, sister-in-law Jean Chen and brothers-in-law Tony Chen and Youtao Cheng. Predeceased by his sister Doreen Phillips.
Dr. Wood was a Professor of Computer Science who throughout his career educated students at McMaster University, University of Waterloo, University of Western Ontario and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Derick with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, October 15, 2010 from 6-9 p.m and Saturday October 16 from 9:30 10:15am. The funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 10:30 am. A private family committal will take place at Parkview Crematorium and a reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
