1909 - 2009
Slipped into the presence of her Lord on Sunday, October 4, 2009, in her one hundredth year.
Beloved wife of the late William Houlding (1967); loved mother of Barbara Lockley (Jim), Fred Houlding (Alma), Raymond Houlding (Marion), and Nancy Gates (Robert); cherished grandmother of Paul Lockley (Kelly), Patricia Hallman (Ron), Hal Houlding, Amanda Pugh, Maria Houlding, Meredith King (Derrick), Jason Houlding (Brandi), and Kimberly Machan; fondly remembered by twelve great grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by a brother-in-law, Rev. Alvin Simpson. Martha was the last surviving offspring of the ten children born to the late Edwin and Alice Hunt.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Harvey (Rotha), George (Gwen), John, Roy (Joan), and Bill (Katherine), and sisters, Dorothy Meadows (George), Edith MacKenzie (Don), Evelyn Simpson (Alvin), and Marjorie MacKenzie (Bill).
The family will receive friends and relatives at Bethany Evangelical Missionary Church, 160 Lancaster St. E., Kitchener, on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. A reception will be held immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
