<h1>Murray Snider</h1> 1939 – 2009 Murray Snider passed away peacefully into the presence of God on October 31, 2009 at Leisureworld Care Centre, Elmira, at the age of 70. Murray will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Loretta (Martin); son, Ryan Snider, his wife Tricia and their daughter, Savannah of Waterloo; daughter, Kara Bergstrom and her husband Kent of Abbotsford, BC. He is survived by his siblings, Stewart Snider (Gail) of Southampton; Clare Snider (Brenda) of Elmira; and Sharon Snyder (Maynard) of Kitchener; sister-in-law Doris Reier (Gord) of Waterloo; sister-in-law Pauline Gingrich (Gary) of Waterloo; mother-in-law, Annie Martin of St Jacobs and his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father, Mahlon C Snider (1963); his mother, Lena (Horst) Snider Frey (2003) and his father-in-law, Henry A Martin (1990). Murray spent most of his working years as a dedicated teacher in Kitchener and Newfoundland and enjoyed being the principal of an International School in Kenya. He taught young people at church and enjoyed singing in various local choirs. His teaching career was cut short when he was diagnosed with young onset of Parkinson’s at the age of 45. Murray was proud of his family and loved them deeply. He was so pleased to be able to walk unaided at both children’s weddings before losing his mobility. A very special thank you is extended to long-time friends from his Care Group for their love and support through the years. With deep gratitude to the staff, caregivers and residents at Leisureworld for the medical, personal and spiritual care and friendship extended to Murray. The family will receive friends and relatives at a visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S. Waterloo, on Friday, November 6 , 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service of worship and remembrance will be held at Kitchener Mennonite Brethren Church, 19 Ottawa St. N. Kitchener on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow the service at the church. A private burial will take place. In his memory, donations to the Mennonite Central Committee or the Parkinson’s Society would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy and may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
