Passed away, peacefully at K-W Health Centre of the Grand River Hospital on Monday October 30, 2006 at the age of 65 years.
Beloved wife of Thomas. Loving mother of Dale and his wife Anne –Louise, and Brian and his wife Kyoung Hee. Proud grandmother of Ben, Blake, Zach, Gregory and Hannah. Sadly missed by her brother Robert Murphy and his wife Sharon. Survived by her in-laws Edwin Dietrich of St. Agatha; Richard Dietrich, Catherine Dietrich, Barb Dietrich, Mark and Marjorie Dietrich all of Kitchener-Waterloo; Paul and Anita Dietrich of Wellesley; Margaret and Walter Hinsperger of Milverton; and Leona and Wayne Henhoeffer of Ayr as well as several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Wilfred and Gertrude Murphy (nee Spencer); her parents-in law William B. and Oliva Dietrich (nee Zettle) and brother-in- law Fred Dietrich.
Joan was a 20 plus year dedicated switchboard operator at K-W Hospital.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Joan with her family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King Street South in Waterloo on Thursday, November 2, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where Parish Prayers will be held at 8:45 pm. A Morning Prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 3, 2006 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Louis RC Church, 53 Allen Street East, Waterloo at 10 am, with Rev. Ray Reitzel C.R. as celebrant. Interment will follow in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. Following the committal service, friends are invited to join the family in the St. Louis RC Church Parish Hall for refreshments and a time to visit.
