Passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on Monday October 30, 2006.
Beloved wife for 55 years of Herbert Hackbart of Wellesley. Loving mother of Murray Hackbart, Joyce (Wayne) Gerber, Marlene (Paul) Ming, and Joan (Neil) Gray. Proud and loving grandmother of David (Laura) Gerber, Angela (Chris) Gerber, Jennifer Ming, Sherri (Matt) Ming, Danielle Gray and Candice Gray as well as great-grandmother of Calem, Keegan, Siarah and Taesha. She will also be remembered by her brother Harold (Leona) Mohr and sister Geraldine Helmuth and sister-in-law Margaret (Joe) Brown.
Predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Mary Mohr and brother-in-law Stuart Helmuth.
Verna cared deeply for her husband and family. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Verna and Herbert farmed for 40 years in North Easthope Township. Her passions included gardening, ballroom dancing and cooking. Verna was a role model for all.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Verna with her family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Vernas life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday November 2, 2006 at 11 a.m. Reception will follow in the funeral homes Fireside Reception Room. Interment will take place at Rush's Cemetery, Wellesley on Thursday afternoon.
