<h1>John Welker</h1> 1916 – 2006 Passed away peacefully with his wife of 61 years by his side, at the Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on October 30, 2006, at the age of 90 years. Devoted husband of Eva. Lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Predeceased by his parents; brother Arthur; and his sister Mary Pletch. John served overseas in World War II, where he met and married his wife Eva. After returning to Canada he was employed with the Bank of Nova Scotia, and went on to own and operate Canadian Met-Craft Industries Limited. John was a respected member of the Free Masons and the Shrine Club and held many high offices. A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be held at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at 4 p.m., the Rev. Doug Kellough officiating. Immediately following the service friends are invited to the Historic Kuntz House of the funeral home for refreshments and a time to visit with the family.
