1928 - 2009
Joe passed away peacefully in the early hours of October 29th at the Palliative Care Unit, Freeport Health Centre in Kitchener following a brief illness. He is now reunited with his beloved wife of 58 years, Dorothy who predeceased him this year on June 27th. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Ricky (Kate) of Kitchener, David (Marilyn) of Baden and Jo-Anne Bankmann (Gary) of Kitchener. Affectionately known as Cannonball, Joe will be dearly missed by his loving grandchildren Khara, Kristopher (Courtney), Bradley (Marcie), Brent and step-grandchildren Dennis, Ryan and Christopher. He is predeceased by his parents, William and Mabel (nee Stubbs) Fewster and sister, Etta Corkum. Joe is survived by his sister Pearl MacDonald and his brother-in-law, Elroy Corkum. Special thanks to Kate for all her support and commitment during his illness. The family extends their gratitude to his doctors, Dr. Louise Vitou, Dr. Duncan Schwarz and Dr. Moolman and to the staff of Grand River 5th Floor Medicine and of Freeport UT3 Palliative care team.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Joes life at a service at St. Johns Lutheran Church at a later date and will be followed by Interment in St. Johns Cemetery in Petawawa. Cremation has taken place.
