Obituary of Betty Smith

<h1>Betty Smith</h1> 1924 – 2009 Betty Smith of Waterloo, passed away at the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on October 29, 2009 in her 86th year. Daughter of the late Nathan Smith and Barbara nee Bottomley. Mourned by her sister Natalene Merner of New Hamburg and sister-in-law Phyllis Smith of Grand Bend. Lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews and extended family. Betty was predeceased by her sisters; Helen (Norman) Nicholson and Shirley (Ken) Stewart; brother, Bruce Smith and brother-in-law Ross Merner. She worked for the K-W Record for many years and very fond of all her connections to the Canadian Womens Navy (WRENS) after serving her country during the Second World War and her friends at Waterloo Heights. In keeping with Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place and interment in Avondale Cemetery.
