It is with great sadness Laverne passed away peacefully with his family at his side on October 27th at St. Marys Hospital at the age of 78.
Beloved husband of 53 years to Helen Annie (nee: Loos) of Waterloo. Dearly loved father of Lynda (Howard) McCutcheon, and Alan. The best loved grandpa to Candace, Catheryne and Nathan McCutcheon and Crystal Pommer (Sean Jolly). Cherished great-grandpa to Addison and Shadyn Jolly. Also survived by his sister Leona (Bill) Koehler and brother in law Robert (Terry) Tuchlinsky and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Werner and Lillian (nee: Gaetz) Pommer, sisters and brothers in law; Dorothy (Norman) Koebel, Novanda (Rudy) Linkert, Helen Tuchlinsky, brothers and sisters in law; Harry (Bernice) White and Albert (Marjorie) White.
Laverne was a long-time resident of Bridgeport and was employed at B.F. Goodrich for 38 years until retirement in 1986.
Friends and relatives are invited to share their memories of Laverne with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Friday, October 30 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, October 31 at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Private interment will take place.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of the second floor I.C.U of St. Marys Hospital for their exceptional care.
