<h1>Earl Schmitt</h1> May 14, 1920-October 25, 2010 Earl died at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener, in the early hours Monday morning the 25th of October. He was in his 91st year. Predeceased by his parents Edgar and Dianna, brother Bill (Wink) and sister Audrey. He is survived by his very dearest friend Dorothy Sheppard and her daughter Sharon (David) Varley. (Warrant Officer Class 1) Earl served in the Canadian Armed Forces (Royal Canadian Arny), Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, in Europe from May 1941 to December 1945. Again from April 1949 to April 1957 and then from October 1957 to October 1960. He travelled all over Canada but always returned to his home in Waterloo and in 1980, he was hired as a mechanic at K-Mart at Conestoga Mall in Waterloo where he worked until his retirement. Earl was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 530 (Waterloo). Pragmatic to the end it is Earl’s wish that there be neither visitation nor funeral service. He has been cremated.
