<h1>Rev. Eric H. Reble</h1> December 24, 1923 – October 19, 2010 Rev. Eric H. Reble, passed away in the comfort and care of Sunshine Centre, Luther Village, Waterloo. He lived to the end with grace and gratitude for a wonderful life filled with the rich love of family and friends. Pastor Eric exemplified a faith in a loving and inclusive God and was open to the truths and teachings of other faiths. He took great joy throughout his life for the gifts of nature, sports and reading. He remembered with remarkable clarity and joy, the wide variety of people who passed through his life growing up, as a student, as teacher and pastor and in his active participation in church and community life wherever he lived. Predeceased by his dear wife Jean (nee Niergarth) and daughter Brenda. He will be deeply missed by children Peter (Terri) Reble, Jane (Jane Brenneman) and Carol (John Guilliams); grandchildren Rhea, Travis and Jeremy; brother John (and Pat) Reble; sister-in-law Doris Egles; loving nieces and nephews and; many dear friends. He was also predeceased by his parents Dr. Rev. John and Gertrude Reble; siblings Elsie Rodgers, Rev. Otto Reble, and Kurt Reble. Pastor Eric was born in Linwood, Ontario, grew up in downtown Hamilton and graduated from Waterloo Lutheran College. He was pastor in Normanby-Carrick and St. Paul's, Bridgeport before he and Jean joined the Board of World Missions in 1959. He pursued his passions for ministry and teaching first at Kodaikanal School, Tamil Nadu, South India and later in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh before returning to Canada in 1971. Pastor Eric served at St. Mark's, Kingston and St. Peter's, Kitchener until his retirement but remained active in church and community life for as long as possible. We join him in the gratitude he often expressed for the loving affection and support of so many friends and the thoughtful care of the staff at the Sunshine Centre, the Grand River Cancer Centre and CCAC. Friends are invited to share their memories of Eric with his family at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Pastor Eric’s life and faith will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 49 Queen Street North, Kitchener, on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. Immediately following the service, friends and relatives are invited to join the family in the Parish Hall at St. Peter’s Church for lunch and a time to visit with the family. Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Kitchener.
