<h1>Homer Desjardins</h1> Went to be with his Lord and Saviour on November 4, 2010 at the Freeport Health Centre in Kitchener at the age of 83. Loving husband of Shirley (nee Dippel) for 58 years. Devoted father of Dale (Carol Ann) Desjardins and Carol (Robin) Friesen. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Karen and David. Also survived by his brother Johnny Desjardins; sisters, Theresa Schiavo and Margaret Hazzard; and sister-in-law, Carol Desjardins. Predeceased by his parents, Hermas Desjardins and Elizabeth (nee Beaupre); brothers, Hector, Freddie, and Emil; and by sisters, Bernadette, Valerie, and Alma. Homer was employed at BF Goodrich and later owned and operated a barber shop on University Avenue in Waterloo. He faithfully attended First Baptist Church. All of his life, Homer enjoyed taking long walks and talking to the many friends he made along the way. Visitation will be held at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Friday, November 12 from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will take place at First Baptist Church, 306 Erb St. W., Waterloo, on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 10:30 a.m., the Rev. Calvin Hood officiating. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. For those who wish to attend, interment will take place in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener following the reception.
