1936-2008
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, age 72 years.
Verna began teaching at Rose MacDonald School for the Blind in Brantford in 1956, continuing her career at various schools in Waterloo County, with many years at Laurentian Senior Public School as a Teacher Librarian.
She was a faithful member of West Montrose United Church, enjoyed travelling, bird watching and woodworking and will be sadly missed by all of her many close friends.
Verna was a loving sister to Evan Woods and his wife Brenda, Arthur Woods and his wife Carole.
(Av) will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, or (her kids), David and Laurie Miller, Bob and Fiona Miller, Kathy Miller and Paul Kelly, Joanne Miller and Wilder Boucaud, Jane Miller and Peter Milligan, John and Bev Woods, Sandra and Richard Adamson, Nancy Woods and Ted Pimm, Steve and Wendy Woods and also by thirteen great nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Vera and Harvey Woods; sisters Hazel in infancy and Lorna Miller and a brother-in-law Jim Miller.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Verna with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, November 28, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, November 29 from 11am until service time at 11:30am in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Marilyn Shaw officiating.
Cremation will follow with interment in West Montrose United Church Cemetery.
