Amy Hunsberger died peacefully at Lisaard House in Cambridge on Tuesday, November 24, 2009. She lived in Kitchener for many years, but had resided at Parkwood Suites in Waterloo since last November.
Amy is survived by Enos and Ruth Hunsberger, Elsie and Glen Shantz, Erma and John Stutzman, Mary and George Schiedel, Ken Hunsberger and sister-in-law Catherine Hunsberger. She was a special aunt to a number of nieces and nephews as well as grandnieces and nephews. Amy also had many good friends. She was predeceased by her parents Eldon and Mary Hunsberger, and two brothers Willis and Floyd and sisters-in-law Marjorie Hunsberger, and Shirley Hunsberger. Amy was a social worker who had served as an assistant dean of women at Goshen College in Indiana. She worked for many years at Children and Family Services in Kitchener. She had many interests and hobbies such as making pottery, and interior decorating. Amy was an active member of Shantz Mennonite Church.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Amy with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Friday, December 4, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Amys life will be held at Shantz Mennonite Church, 2473 Erb's Road West, Baden on Saturday, December 5 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ellie Witzke-Huebner officiating. A reception will follow at the church.
The family wishes to thank Lisaard House and Parkwood Suites for the loving care given to Amy during her final weeks.
