<h1>Gerald Doherty</h1> 1926 - 2008 Passed away on Saturday November 22, 2008, at Heritage House in St. Jacobs. Gerald was born 82 years ago in Linwood, Ontario, a son of the late Herbert and Madeline (nee Lanz) Doherty. Dear husband of the late Geraldine (nee Bauman) who predeceased him September 13, 2005. Beloved father of Brian and his wife Hilda Doherty of New Hamburg, Brenda and her husband Ken Jackson of Baden, and father-in-law of Kelly Doherty of Kitchener. Cherished grandfather of Katie and Craig Underwood, Daina and Reed Jackson, Nicholas, Meghan, Todd and Benjamin Doherty; and great-grandson, Joshua Underwood. Gerald will be sadly missed by his sister Helen and her husband Carl Bender of Kitchener, brother Herb and his wife Betty Doherty of Sauble Beach, brother-in-laws Jim and his wife Patty Bauman of Orange, California, and Lloyd Bowman and Joanne Sarkisian of Cambridge; also remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his beloved son Michael (2005); brother Ken; sister Margaret Goebel, mother and father-in-law Mary and Richard Bowman, and sisters-in-law Joyce Bauman and Martha Doherty, and brother-in-law Louis Goebel. Gerald was a dedicated employee of B.F. Goodrich, Kitchener for 39 1/2 years, and enjoyed his retirement close to home tending to his gardens and working on his woodworking projects. Friends and relatives may call at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday November 26, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Gerald's life will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 1 p.m. Interment at Memory Gardens, Breslau. A reception will follow the committal service, in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
