Obituary of John Timleck

<h1>John "Jack" Timleck</h1> 1921 – 2009 Passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital on Monday, November 16, 2009 at the age of 88. Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife Betty in 2006 and his parents Harry and Edith Timleck. He is survived by his children, Linda Packer (Stephen), Anne Strickler (Don), Bruce Timleck (Rebecca), and Douglas Timleck (Gregory Mark). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Tracey Madeley (Bryson), Scott Strickler (Nancy Rodobolski), Tiffany Timleck (Ryan Maxwell) and Lindsay Timleck (Ryan Foell) and great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Matthew Madeley, and Riley Strickler. Jack was born and raised in Ottawa. He enlisted with the R.C.A.F. in 1942 and was first stationed at #3 Wireless School in Winnipeg. Later he transferred to Dafoe SK for advance training as an air gunner. He returned to Ottawa and a year later married Betty Hooke. Jack and Betty settled in Waterloo where he worked for Mutual Life Insurance (Sun Life) as an Underwriter and retired after 35 years. Jack was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #530, Waterloo and Parkminster United Church. Friends are invited to share their memories of Jack with his family during visitation at Emmanuel Village Retirement Residence, 1250 Weber Street East, Kitchener on Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 2-4 pm. Visitation will continue at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Thursday, from 7-9 pm. The funeral service to celebrate Jack’s life and faith will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Friday, November 20 at 11 am. with Rev. Elaine Graham officiating. A reception will be held in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home following the funeral service. Cremation and interment will be held at a later date.
