Obituary of Elsinore Diggory

<h1>Elsinore "Blossom" Diggory</h1> (nee Boyce) 1924 – 2009 Of Kitchener and formerly of Toronto and London, Elsinore (affectionately known as Blossom) passed away peacefully at the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Thursday, November 12, 2009 in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Thomas Diggory, sister of the late Frances Fletcher (Boyce), and sister-in-law of the late Homer Fletcher. Loved aunt of Robert “Bob” and Beth Fletcher of Edmonton, Col. John Fletcher and wife Rita Guthrie of Calgary, and Frances-Jane Fletcher and husband Don Denoon of London. Remembered by her cousins, Barbara Dalrymple, Jim Husser, David Husser, Lord Michael Boyce, Sir Graham Boyce, Dr. Phillip Boyce, Olwen (Boyce) Harrison and their families. Elsinore was born in London, Ontario to Herbert and Elsie Louise (Francis) Boyce. She excelled in English literature and poetry and all academics, graduating with honours in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of Western Ontario in 1947. She married Dr. Diggory in 1951 and they lived a very happy and fulfilling 51 years together. She will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank Dr. Mourkes and staff at the Grand River Hospital as well as Ann Howard and the ComCare staff for their care and attention to Elsinore. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held in the Fireside Reception Room of the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, December 13, 2009 from 1-3 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario and can be arranged by contacting the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
