Obituary of Jean Kirtley

Jean Kirtley

1924 2007
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom and Nan, Jean Kirtley, on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the age of 83 following a brief illness.
She faced this illness with dignity and strength. Her strength guided us through this difficult time. We take comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her husband, George and daughter, Gillian Kirtley.
She will be forever loved and forever remembered by her daughters, Sandy (Mark) Hodgson, Ann (Les) Cox, Jean (Bob) Gies. The lights of her life were her grandchildren, Amanda Hodgson, Jane (John) Ayre, Michelle (Paul) Wade, Kellie Gies, Tim (Erin) Gies, they were her pride and joy. She doted on them. She was not only Nan, she was their best friend. She will also be forever remembered by her great grandchildren, Kieran and Liam and will be missed by her adoptive families, the Dunns and the Proctors.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the medical staff at Grand River Hospital 5th floor (5 North) and Dr. R. Fowlis for their kind and compassionate care.
At Jeans request, there will be no Funeral Service. Cremation will take place and private interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Breslau will be held at a later date.
Condolences for the family and donations to the CNIB. or the Canadian Cancer Society may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S., Waterloo 519.745.8445 or www.erbgood.com.
In living memory of Jean, a tree will be planted through the Trees for Learning program by the funeral home.
