Shirley passed away, peacefully, on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre, Waterloo, where she resided for the past 5 years.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Louis (Louie) and her daughter, Judie in 2001.
Loving mother of Jim Gies of Guelph. Grandmother to Thomas, Kalie and Emily Gies, Shawn and Keith Boniface and Brittany Gies. Survived by her sister, Joan Bezruki; her niece and godchild, Debi Garibaldi (Steve); nephew, Garry Bezruki (Liz) and many other nieces and nephews. Sister-in-law to Howie Walz and Irene Gies of Waterloo, Ted Nile of London and Betty.
Predeceased by her parents, Clate and Olive Hundt; her brothers-in-law, Stan Bezruki, Leo Gies, John Brent and Alfred Gies and her sisters-in-law, Lorraine Walz, Jean Gies and Mae Niles.
Shirley was a well known cosmetician for 39 years at Shiers/Hoeglers Pharmacy on Belmont Street. She enjoyed the friendships she made there serving her customers which sometimes included three generations.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Shirley with her family during memorial visitation at the Erb and Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Wednesday November 15 from 7-9 p.m. The memorial service to celebrate Shirleys life will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bev Williams officiating. Following the memorial service, friends are invited to join the family in the Funeral Home's Fireside Reception Room for refreshments and a time to visit. Interment to follow at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
