<h1>Maurice Melloul</h1> 1925 – 2009 Passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 8, 2009 at the age of 84 years. Maurice is survived by his beloved wife Janine of 61 years, Janine’s sister who Maurice raised as his daughter from the age of five, Marinette (Harley) Murphy, his loving children, Bernard (Patricia) Melloul, Francine (John) Chambers, Michel (Cindy) Melloul, John (Jane) Melloul, his niece Michele (Bill) McTaggart, his grandchildren Joel (Amberlea), Nadine (Jeffrey), Natalie (Carlton) and their mother Marilyn Melloul, Carinne (Ricky), Melisa (Javier), Christine, Anna, Paul and Sarah-Jane, as well as seven great-grandchildren Madeleine, Meredith, Harriet, Luke, Adrienne, Cameron and Evelyn. During the Second World War, Maurice served with the French Army North African Corps. He was a soldier representing the Allied Liberation Forces who liberated the city of Strasbourg, France. He was billeted as a young soldier to a stranger’s home where he met Janine, the love of his life. Maurice immigrated to Canada with his young family in 1961. He embraced his new country and was a very proud Canadian. He had a successful career in real estate for many years until his retirement. Friends are invited to share their memories of Maurice with his family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 from 9:00 am to 10:45 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the chapel of the funeral home. Cremation will follow and a private family interment will take place at a later date.
