Obituary of Ruth Hayden

<h1>Ruth Hayden</h1> Ruth Darwin Hayden (née Rudd), beloved mother and best friend of Laura Scholz, passed away peacefully in her sleep May 6, 2007. Ruth was born Dec 24, 1919 in Calgary, grew up in nearby Rockyford and then moved to Vancouver where she married Stanley Hayden. In 1959 they settled in Powell River, BC, where they raised Laura and Ruth worked in Stan’s law practice as a legal secretary and later as a Court Clerk and Justice of the Peace. She was a devoted mother and wife, avid Bridge player and skilled seamstress. Ruth was predeceased by Stan in 1998, after which she moved to Waterloo, ON, to be near Laura and grandchildren Marieke and Christopher. We remember Ruth for her wonderful humour, quick wit and kindness. She will be sadly missed by us and by her friends in Powell River and Waterloo. Ruth will remain forever in our hearts. A service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home 171 King Street South in Waterloo on Saturday May 12 at 3 p.m. with Rev JackPaleczny officiating. Following the service, friends are invited to join the family for refreshments and a time to visit.
