With great sadness, Joes family announces his passing, peacefully, at Lissard House on Thursday, May 29, 2008, age 44 years, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Joe was a life long member of St. Agatha RC Church. He was a construction millwright for over 25 years and a dedicated employee of Trade Mark Industries for many years.
Cherished husband of Angela (nee Bauer) for 23 years. Loving father of Jeff and his fiancee Kim, Rachael, Joel, Greg, Caecilia and Michael.
Beloved son of Eugene and Margaret Straus; brother of Gloria and her husband Len Henhoeffer, Marilyn and her husband Jim Henhoeffer, Lewis and his wife Anne Straus, Russ and his wife Linda Straus, Carol and her husband Roy Decaire, Cathy and her husband Paul Henhoeffer, Barb and her husband Dave Heppler, Marg and her husband Steve Feeney.
Joe will be sadly missed by his 35 nieces and nephews and 23 great nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Joe with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Saturday May 31, 2008 from 2 4 p.m.and 7 - 9 pm, Sunday June 1, 2008 from 2-4 pm and 7 9 pm. Morning Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday June 2, 2008 at 10:45 am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Agatha RC Church at 11:30 am with Rev. Charles Fedy CR as Celebrant. Interment in St. Agatha RC Cemetery. Reception to follow at St. Agatha Community Centre.
Parish Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Sunday June1, 2008 at 8:45 p.m.
