Obituary of Helen Stumpf

<h1>Helen Stumpf</h1> 1927 – 2008 Passed away at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, May 25, 2008 in her 81st year. Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Joe. She is survived by her loving children, Linda, Joe (Linda), and Dave (Christine). A proud grandmother to her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer, Krista, Jordan and Paige. Helen is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Kuntzie; sister-in-law, Marie Arnold and brother-in-law, Wilfred (Dolly) Stumpf. She will also be sadly missed by Lady and Mikey. Helen was also predeceased by her parents, Melvin and Christina (nee: Schade) Kuntzie and her brother, Bruce Kuntzie. Helen was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #530 Ladies Auxiliary and the K-W Naval Association Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. Friends are invited to share their memories of Helen with her family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Legion Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. and the Parish Prayers will be held at 8:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes Street, Waterloo on Thursday, May 29 at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Edward Sheridan as Celebrant followed by interment at Parkview Cemetery. A special thanks to Dr. Ward and the palliative care nursing staff of Freeport Health Centre for their excellent care and compassion. Thanks also to Dr. Sarkaria at St. Mary’s Hospital.
