1924 - 2010
Passed away peacefully at Conestoga Lodge, Kitchener, on May 24, 2010 in her 86th year, of heart failure. Loving mother of Wilfred (Roswitha) Schalm and Paul (Dolores) Schalm; dear grandmother of Andrew (Georgina) Schalm, Rebecca (James) Maaser, Daniel (Lindsay) Schalm, and Stephen Schalm; step-mother to Herbert (Silvia) Krause, and Ben Krause (Valerie); step-grandmother to Jason (Rhonda) Krause and Michael (Agnes) Krause.
Predeceased by son Alfred shortly after birth, and husbands Reinhold Schalm and Robert Krause.
Martha loved God, and was a faithful member of Immanuel Pentecostal Church in Kitchener. She was known for blessing others with knitted slippers which were donated to family, friends, hospitals and overseas missions. Special thanks to the caring staff at Conestoga Lodge.
Visitation at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Sunday May 30, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held at Immanuel Pentecostal Church, 100 Hoffman St., Kitchener, at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 31, with Rev. Markus Brandt officiating. Following a luncheon at the church, interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery.
