<h1>Orval Schnarr</h1> 1927 – 2008 Passed away peacefully on May 2, 2008 at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, at the age 81 years. Beloved father of Brenda Jameson (Mel), Susan Gropp (Bob Dally), and Deb Courtemanche (Rod). Grandfather of Melissa Gropp (fiancé John Pourgoutzidis) Meagen Gropp (friend Will Blair), Katie and Brittany Courtemanche. Orval will be sadly missed by residents and staff at The Village Manor, St. Jacobs and his special friend, Earl Ward of Mount Forest. Orval was born to Henry and Kate Schnarr (nee Jacky) on January 25, 1927. He continued the family tradition, working on his father’s farm in Waterloo on Columbia Street. In 1965 he purchased a farm in Newton, where he and his family farmed. He retired in 1977 and they moved back to the Waterloo area. The family extends a special thank you to Debbie and family, and all the staff at The Village Manor for their kind and compassionate care over the past three years, as well as the support teams from CCAC and the Palliative Care Unit of Freeport Health Centre. Visitation will be held at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Orval’s life and faith will take place at Northside Baptist Church, 1373 Lobsinger Line, Waterloo, on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 11 a.m., the Rev. Neil Sawatzky officiating. Reception will follow the service in the Church Hall. Interment in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Breslau.
