Obituary of William Goodwin

William "Bill" Goodwin
1945 - 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of (William F.) Bill Goodwin of Waterloo, at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. Over the years, Bill overcame countless obstacles as a result of diabetes and kidney disease. However, on Friday, May 14, 2010, with his family by his side, he could no longer endure his latest battle. Adored husband of Tanis (Uttley) for 43 years. Cherished father of Sherri Durnin (Jeff) of Roseville and Christine Freeman of Waterloo. Loving Grandpa to Tyson Hinschberger, Kyle and Shelby Durnin, and Morghan, Matthew and Nolan Freeman. Dear son of Margaret (Hancock) Goodwin of Kitchener and the late Frederick Goodwin. Brother of Barb Coxson (Gary) of Kitchener. Bill will also be fondly remembered by his extended family members. Bill was an employee of Waterloo North Hydro until his early retirement for medical reasons. Despite his endless health struggles, he lived for his family - always putting their needs before his own. He truly took care of others, without ever wanting anything back. He will always be our Guardian Angel. Friends are invited to share their memories of Bill with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Monday, May 17 from 7-9 p.m, and on Tuesday, May 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, on Wednesday, May 19 at 11 a.m. A reception will immediately follow. Interment at Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener. The family would like to thank the healthcare professionals at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, particularly in the CCU, Nephrology and Infectious Disease.
