Obituary of Agnes Maier

<h1>Agnes Maier</h1> 1911 - 2009 Peacefully and comfortably at Trinity Village Care Centre, Agnes passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2009 in her 98th year. Lovingly remembered by her children, Virginia and Richard Smith, Sandra and Jim Millar, and Karen Maier. Sadly missed by her grandchildren, Richard and Coreen, Christian, Adrian and Jennifer and Piers Smith, Stephanie and Abes Oozeer, Samantha Millar Quinlan and Chris Quinlan; also by her great-grandchildren, Noah and Sarah Oozeer. Predeceased by her dear husband, Lloyd (1995); parents, Catherine (nee Frank) and Emery Shantz and her dear sisters, Verda, Pearl, Grace, Helen and her only brother, Ray. Agnes was from the old school, she knew what was right, and wrong, and that governed her whole approach to life, and attitude which she also imparted to her children. We are all saddened by her passing, but relieved that the pain is over. As Agnes requested a small, beautiful family celebration of her life was held, followed by cremation. The family is deeply grateful for the loving care and understanding that Agnes received from the staff (3rd Floor, Walnut Grove T.V.C.C.) for the four years of her residence there. "Nanny was the human equivalent of her favorite candy, The Humbug. Rather hard on the outside but with a surprising sweetness on the inside."
