<h1>Denis Perkins</h1> 1929 – 2009 Passed away peacefully, at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener on Monday, March 9, 2009, nine days short of his 80th birthday. Denis spent eight years as a policeman in London, England before coming to Canada in 1967. He worked at the University of Waterloo as a Security Supervisor until 1980, and then managed a small business until his retirement in 1994. Denis was very involved with youth in the community, and was Commanding Officer of 2873 Army Cadet Corp from 1972 until 1977. He was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel as Area C.I.L. Officer for South Western Ontario until 1982, and then served two years as Commanding Officer of 822 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets. Beloved husband of Jean for 55 years; loved father of Chris and daughters-in-law, Becky and Sue; dear grandfather of Tabitha, Samantha and Christine. Predeceased by a son, David Clive. A memorial service will be held at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, (www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445) on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Walrath officiating. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. At Denis’ request, in lieu of donations, please give a bouquet of flowers to your loved one and tell them you love them. In living memory of Denis, a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
