<h1>Eva MacLeod</h1> (nee HOAD/BROWN) 1930-2009 Eva May Macleod, predeceased by her husband Kenneth Benjamin Brown (1965) and her 17 year old daughter, Debra Benita Brown (1969). Survived by her husband Robert Bruce Macleod. Mother of Gregory Kenneth Brown (Jennifer) of Vancouver; Edna Hill (Michael O’Shea) of Chemainus, Vancouver Island; Jane Dillon (Richard) of Burlington; and Roderick Macleod (Gail) of Calgary. Grandmother of Jeffrey Hill (Lee Anne) and Craig Hill (Kimberly) of Brantford; Michael Dillon (Nicole) and Steven Dillon (Darya) of Burlington, Brooke Macleod (Colin), Logan Macleod (Ashley) and Gray Macleod (Karli) of Calgary; Zanna Basi and Saffron and Amar Brown of Vancouver. Sister of Betty Young (the late Walter) of Whitby; Mary Power (Harry) of Newmarket; and Lenora Rupprecht (the late Werner) of Uxbridge. Survived by her sister-in-law, Mae Hoad of Whitby, her Aunt Maisie Hands of Markham, her four great-grandsons, many cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by her parents Jennie Eileen (Hands) Hoad and Alfred Hoad; and her brother Kenneth Clarke Hoad. The parents encouraged their five children to get involved in athletics. Eva loved baseball, played basketball in high school and excelled in track and field. They grew up on a farm near Unionville and had horses. Eva and her sisters, in saddle or bareback, exercised horses from the Sheridan Racing Stables north of Toronto. In later years Eva took art lessons in Toronto and Kitchener mainly painting in oils. She produced many dozens of landscapes, farm buildings, children playing – framed many to give to family and friends. Over the years she also produced numerous needle-point pictures, again giving framed ones to relatives and friends. Visitation will take place at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Tuesday March 10, 2009 from 2-4 pm. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, March 11 at 2 pm conducted by The Reverend Canon Robin Lyons, Parish Priest at All Saints’ Anglican Church, Waterloo. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Cremation having taken place, a private family burial will be held in the family plot at St. James Cemetery in Toronto on Thursday, March 12.
