Passed away following a brief illness at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Wednesday, March 05, 2008 at the age of 69 years.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Janet, his children, Martha and her husband Glenn Archer, Timothy and his wife Jackie, and Mary and her husband Jason Watkins, and his 3 grandchildren Kate, John and Lauren. He is also survived by his sisters, Jeano of Vancouver and Suzanne of Goderich. Jim was predeceased by his parents Hedley and Audrey Wilson of Kennebecasis Park NB and his sister Nancy of Fredericton NB.
Jim was born and brought up in St. John NB and educated at Rothesay Collegiate School, U.N.B., Queens and Wilfrid Laurier. After working for Allis Chalmers in Montreal, he was employed by the University of Waterloo for 24 years. He was Director of Co-operative Education and Career Services for 10 years. After his retirement in 1993, he devoted much of his time to gardening at the Farm, travelling, antiquing and enjoying his grandchildren.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Jim with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Monday, March 10, 2008 from 10 am to 10:45 am. The funeral service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 11:00 am. A reception will be held in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home immediately following the service. Private family interment will take place at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
