Joseph passed away at Trinity Village Care Centre on Thursday, March 4, 2010 in his 87th year.
Loving husband of Cecilia (nee Strub) for 62 years. Devoted father of Yvonne (Roy) Wintermeyer, Leo (Cathy-Jo) Weiss, Richard (Marilyn) Weiss and Lois (John) Pelger. Cherished grandpa of Kaitlyn Weiss, Holly (Cory) Young, Troy Weiss, Amber (Tim) Koebel, Todd (Tanya) Weiss, Jessica and Cortney Pelger. Great-grandpa of Lucas, Brooklyn and Parker. Lovingly remembered by his sister, Sister Ann Therese Weiss; sister-in-law, Anna Weiss; brother-in-law, Robert Reitzel and many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph J. Weiss and Josephine (nee Kramer) and by many brothers and sisters.
Joe was a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church. He served in the Second World War and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 530.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, today (Monday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with Parish Prayers at 8:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes St., Waterloo, on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Rafal Toman as celebrant. Reception will be held in the Parish Hall immediately after the service. Interment in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Breslau.
