Obituary of Joyce Antoniadis

Joyce Antoniadis
1925 - 2008 Friday, March 28th,, 2008, aged 82, Joyce passed away peacefully, at home, knowing she was very loved by her family. She was not expected to survive a major heart attack suffered December 31, 2007, but her remarkable spirit and strong will gave her an extra three months at home. Although she had her bad days, she had many good days and times with her family and friends. Now reunited with her loving husband, Tony (Feb 2005). She will be greatly missed by her children, Dorothy and Peter (Snyder), Myrian and Kevin (Lucas), Kyriacos and Mari (Antoniadis), Anna and Mark (Lucas) and her much loved sister and best friend, Doris Lewis (England). Beloved Nanny of Meagan, Bronwyn, Eftyhia, John, Anton, Zoe, Aidan, Owen, and Kieran. Nanny was an important part of their lives and they will all miss her love. Sister to Terence and Ann Thomas (England). Long time friend of the Georgalas Family. She valued the friendship of her neighbours at Alfred Haenchen Co-op, especially May Shane and Sherri Lee Hall. Joyce received wonderful care from palliative nurses Trish, Melanie, Marie and Lauren and Red Cross personal care workers Marjena, Sandra and, especially, Alina. Many thanks to the nurses and doctors at St. Mary’s General Hospital for their care and compassion after her heart attack. It was important for Joyce and all of us that she be home, enveloped in the love of her family. We are very grateful that Myrian, Kevin, Eftyhia and John gladly and lovingly cared for Joyce at their home in her last year. Friends are invited to share their memories of Joyce with her family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Friday, April 4, 2008 from 5-6 p.m. A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held in the chapel at 6 p.m. followed by a reception in the Fireside Reception Room.
