<h1>Alvera "Vera" Reist</h1> Passed away suddenly at home, on Friday, March 27, 2009 at the age of 81 years. Vera is survived by her daughter Sandra (Jeffrey), her brothers and sisters; Jack (Verna) Keip, Joe (Rita) Keip, Hilda Schumaker, Madeline (Harold) Durrer, her brother-in-law Jim Durrer and numerous nieces and nephews. Vera was predeceased by her husband Lloyd of 50 years in 1999, sisters Mary Keip and Dorothy Durrer, brother and sister-in-law Lorne (Dorothy) Keip, sister and brother-in-law Gertrude (Joseph) Heaney, and her brother-in-law Jim Schumaker. Vera was a generous and courageous woman. She was a loving Wife and Mother. She cherished time with her family. Vera was a dedicated parishioner of St Michael’s RC Church and a C.W.L. member. Vera thoroughly enjoyed her gardening and lunches with friends. Friends are invited to share their memories of Vera with her family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Monday (tonight), March 30 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, March 31, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s RC Church, 240 Hemlock Street, Waterloo on Wednesday, April 1, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Cornelius J. O'Mahoney as Celebrant. A private interment will take place at Parkview Cemetery following the reception in the Parish Hall of the church. Condolences for the family and donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association of Kitchener Waterloo or the Grand River Regional Cancer Center may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519.745.8445. In living memory of Vera, a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning program by the funeral home.
