Passed away, on March 26, 2007 at the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital at the age of 88.
Before retirement, Elaine was a high school French and Latin teacher at KCI and WCI. She was a lifetime member of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in Kitchener where she was a member of the altar guild. Since 1943, Elaine has been a member of the Westmount Golf and Country Club. Following retirement, she was a 26 year volunteer of the K-W Hospital Auxilliary.
Elaine enjoyed teaching English to new Canadians.
Elaine is survived by her nieces and nephews, James Cornell and wife Mariann of Burlington, Cynthia Cornell of Panama, Kevin Cornell and wife Brenda of Santa Cruz, CA, Janice Cornell of Alberta and Heather Cornell and husband Christopher of New York.
Predeceased by her parents, Victor and Nan Smith and a sister F. Joyce Cornell.
The memorial service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 23Water St. N., Kitchener, on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 1p.m. Interment to follow in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
