<h1>Betty Gies</h1> 1931 – 2009 Betty Louise Gies passed away at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on March 25, 2009 in her 78th year. Born on March 28, 1931 in Kitchener to her late parents Sophie “Dorothy” Gies (Zehr) and Kenneth Lawrence Gies. She was a lifetime member of Calvary Memorial United Church, a member of the United Church Women and the True Friends Class. For 46 years Betty was a legal secretary at the Law Office of Kelly &amp; Co. from which she retired. Lovingly remembered by her godchild, Kim Dyck and family, cousins Darcy and Norma Spencer and family, many other cousins and dear friends. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Betty’s life and faith will be conducted in the chapel of the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 3 p.m., the Revs. Terry Dunseith and Yun-Hee Noh-Perry officiating. A reception to follow at the funeral home.
