<h1>Alice Schiestel</h1> Passed away peacefully at Columbia Forest Long-Term Care Centre on Saturday, March 21, 2009. Alice was born in Kitchener 92 years ago. Beloved wife of the late Clarence Schiestel (1977). Mother of Allen and his wife Bonnie. Grandmother of Tiffany van Geyn (Jordan), Kaysee (Fraser McCracken) and Brandon. Dear sister of Eileen Hinsberger, Lorne Stahle, Bill Stahle (Peggy), Hilda Wynia (Ted). Sister-in-law of John Schiestel (Mary), Kathleen Hamilton (Ken). Survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings, Robert Stahle, Ethel Eby, Bert Stahle, and Rita Yanke. Alice lived her entire life in Waterloo, was an active member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church, and enjoyed many years in the church quilting club. Thank you to the K-W CCAC, especially Brenda for the many hours of nursing care and in-home support provided, Waterloo Adult Recreation Centre, K-W Meals on Wheels - each of these agencies provided Alice with continued support on a daily, weekly basis over the past 20 years. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Alice during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Tuesday, March 24 from 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Mount Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 29 Westmount Rd. S., Waterloo, on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tanya Ramer officiating. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. Reception will follow at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) of Waterloo Region, Meals on Wheels of K-W, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario by contacting the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445. In living memory of Alice, a donation will be made by the funeral home to the Trees for Learning Program.
