<h1>Thomas Fischer</h1> 1956-2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Alan Fischer on March 21st, 2007 after suffering a brain aneurysm on January 22nd 2007. A loving husband and dedicated father, Tom was an enthusiastic outdoorsman and a respected teacher for the Waterloo Catholic District School Board. Tom’s short life included many wonderful achievements and was characterized by a sense of humour and endearing personality that touched many lives. His love of drama gave him glorious and proud moments both as a teacher of the Arts and as an actor in many theatrical productions. His talent for woodworking and gardening gave him much pleasure and was admired by family, friends and neighbours. Tom’s passion for the outdoors realized through many memorable and wonderful family camping trips will be forever held dearly in the hearts of his wife and children. A zest for learning and experiences in a variety of teaching positions gave him the opportunity to meet many wonderful people in both the elementary and secondary panels of the Waterloo Catholic District School Board throughout his 22 year career. Beloved husband and best friend of Kathleen (nee McCauley), wonderful father of Matthew, Jenny, Bobby and Alex. Dear brother of Michael (Julie) of Kitchener, Joan (Bob Nordby) and Paulette of Saskatchewan. Uncle to 19 nieces and nephews. Tom will be fondly remembered by his Mother and Father-in-law Marjorie and Tom McCauley, by his sisters and brothers in-law Mary Lynn and Paul Winkler of Fonthill On, Greg and BJ McCauley of Kitchener, Joan and Shaun Roberts of Coquitlam, B.C., and Robert and Marjorie McCauley of Kitchener. Tom was predeceased by his parents Elmer and Louise Fischer in 1991. Heartfelt thanks to the emergency room staff at St Mary’s General Hospital, ICU doctors and nurses at Hamilton General and Grand River Hospitals along with the staff on the fifth floor, for their compassionate care. Thanks to the many friends, neighbours, and staff and students of the Waterloo Catholic District School board for their tremendous and continuous support and encouragement throughout this incredible journey. Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Tom with his family during visitations at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, today (Thursday, March 22) from 7 to 9 pm and Friday, March 23 from 2 -4 pm and 7-9 pm. A funeral mass celebrated by Rev Alex McCauley CR, will be held at St. Mark’s RC Church, 55 Driftwood Drive, Kitchener on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at 11:00 am followed by a reception in the church hall.
