As she lived, Donna died surrounded by the ever present and enduring love of her family, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, late Friday evening, March 19, 2010. She was 70.
Everyone who knew Donna admired and respected her unselfish commitment to family, friends and community. Donna had a heart larger than life that always was able to give with a joyful and caring generosity to those she dearly loved and also those she didnt know.
She is survived by her best friend, constant companion and beloved husband, John. Donnas unconditional love will be treasured by her children; Debbie Weber of Kitchener, David and his wife Roseanne Weber of Wolverton and John-Michael and his wife Tania Weber of Kitchener. Special memories of Grandma will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Tyler, Jared, Katelyn, and Eillish Donna Deborah Weber. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters and brother; Louise and her husband Morris Campbell of Campbellford, Grace McDonald of Millbank, John and his wife Donna Wilson of Newmarket; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and his wife Brenda Weber of Kitchener, Ross and his wife Carol Weber of Waterloo and John and his wife Betty Butterfield of Canyon, Texas. All of Donnas nieces, nephews and their families had a special place in her heart.
She was predeceased by her parents Gertrude MacDonald and John Wilson.
Donna was a big time contributor to her community, family and church. She has been honoured and recognized for her efforts which has included induction into the Waterloo Region Hall of Fame, Volunteer of the Year for both Kitchener Minor Hockey and Kitchener Minor Baseball, Life Member of Kitchener Minor Hockey, recipient of the Queens Golden Jubilee Medal, room dedication at Activa Sports Complex, for her significant efforts on behalf of World Womens Hockey, the Sponsored Childrens program for Kitchener Minor Hockey and in 2009, Donna was honoured along with John at the annual Mayors Dinner for outstanding community participation and generous contributions of time and talent for the benefit of others.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Donna with her family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Donnas life of giving and faith will be held at Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church, 57 Stirling Avenue North, Kitchener, on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at 11 a.m. with Revs. Marilyn Rudy-Froese and Kevin Peters-Unrau officiating. Interment will follow in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
Following the committal service at the cemetery, everyone is invited to join the family for lunch and a time to visit at Bingemans.
