Obituary of Glenn MacMillan

Glenn MacMillan
1943 - 2009 Glenn died in the early hours of June 30th, 2009. He died as he had lived - fiercely independent, cheerful and unafraid. This formidable, tough-talking curmudgeon was intensely loyal to his friends and unfailingly spoke truth to power. His friends were those who would speak truth to him. What a life he lived. In his time he was a Chef, a Golden Gloves medallist (“I dunno how to box but I sure can fight”), a cook in a BC lumber camp, a maximum security inmate, a writer, a compelling story-teller and a soup kitchen volunteer. He has stories yet to tell. Come to St. John’s Kitchen (97A Victoria St. N.) on Friday, July 10th to hear the tales and celebrate a unique life lived large. His spark burned bright. And, think about adopting his beloved cat Quincy who may grieve the most of all. Private funeral, no visitation. Cremation. Thanks to Erb & Good Family Funeral Home for wise counsel and support.
