<h1>Rev. Erich Schultz</h1> It pleased Almighty God to summon from this life his servant, the Rev. Erich Schultz on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the age of 80. He will be lovingly remembered by his aunt, Norma Geelhaar; cousins, Pauline (Clifford) McTaggart and family, Ruth Ann (Bob) Paetz and family; and by his treasured godsons, David Paetz and Andrew Liddle and their families. He will be dearly missed by many cherished friends. Predeceased by his parents, Rev. William Schultz and Martha (nee Geelhaar) as well as many aunts and uncles. Born in Rankin, Ontario on June 1, 1930. He was a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and Waterloo Lutheran Seminary, was then ordained and served at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ellice Township. He also served as a Librarian at Waterloo Lutheran University and Wilfrid Laurier University and Waterloo Lutheran Seminary. He served as a member and chair of various University Committees and as President of Ontario Library Association, Institute of Professional Librarians, American Theological Library Association, Ontario Council of University Librarians, Ex Libris Association, Lutheran Historical Conference, K-W Community Concert Association and the Waterloo Historical Society. He also served on various Synodical Committees and as the Synodical Archivist for 49 years. Since retiring in 1995, Erich has enjoyed winters in Florida, where he was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Naples, Florida, summers in Port Elgin, where he was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, Port Elgin, and Spring and Fall in Kitchener-Waterloo, where he was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, Waterloo. A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 22 Willow St., Waterloo, on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 2 p.m., with Bishop Michael Pryce, Rev. Dwight Biggs and Rev. Becky Klages officiating. A reception and time to visit with the family will follow in the Church Hall.
