Patricia Love
Died peacefully at age 96 on June 26, 2009 at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre in Waterloo. Born in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Patricia was daughter to Robert and Ida Smith. She moved to Ottawa with her family in 1935 when her father was elected as Member of Parliament. While living there she met and married Edgar Love in 1947. Edgar predeceased Patricia in 1994. She is also remembered with great affection by her nieces and nephews. Patricia spent her early career as a legal secretary and then, after marriage, as a homemaker, wife and mother. She enjoyed an active social life through bridge clubs, the K-W Garden Club, and square-dancing. She volunteered through the St Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of the Catholic Woman’s League. A very creative person, she expressed herself though wood carving, ceramics and crafts.
