<h1>Esther Michael</h1> 1923-2008 Peacefully, went home to be with the Lord, on Monday June 23, 2008. She was a resident of Luther Village Sunshine Centre, Waterloo. Esther was born April 30, 1923 in Copenhagen, Denmark and was retired from the University of Waterloo Library after 28 years. She was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Waterloo. Survived by four nieces, and four nephews, four cousins, numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Rev. Moritz and Marie Michael; five brothers; Moritz, Otto, Walter, Paul, and Martin, of whom three were pastors, and one died young while studying for the ministry; also predeceased by eight sisters; Johanna Michael, Gertrud Oesch, Ruth Eickstaedt, Karla Nielsen, Emma Reichel, Frieda Ritter, Marie and Anna Michael; also predeceased by three sisters-in-law, six brothers-in-law, two nieces, and numerous cousins. Visitation will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 78 John St., Waterloo, on Thursday, June 26 2008 from 10 – 11am. The funeral service to celebrate her life and faith will follow in the sanctuary at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Krestick officiating. A rerception will immediately follow in the church fellowship hall. Interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Kitchener. In Esther’s memory, donations to Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Moritz J.
