Born November 2, 1949 in Devon, England, Stewart passed away on June 21.
Loving husband and best friend of Ann for 36 years. Father of Jenn and Sam Goodwin, Susie Kelland, Nancy and Rick van Loenen. Son of Morna and Walter Kelland, and Dorothea and the late Gilbert Parker. Brother of Ian and Marian Kelland; brother-in-law of Bruce and Joanne Parker and Linda and Larry Taylor. Granddad of Alec and Macayla.
Stewart was a generous and thoughtful friend to many, and enjoyed travelling, woodworking, astronomy, sailing and fine wines. Recently retired from NCR after 27 years, Stewart held a B.Math (1972, University of Waterloo) and a PhD of Theoretical Physics and Statistical Mechanics (1976, Australian National University).
Friends are invited to share their memories of Stewart with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Wednesday, June 24 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and Thursday, June 25 from 10 - 10:45 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Cremation will have taken place and a reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Doctors Without Borders, Habitat for Humanity - Waterloo or the Stewart and Ann Kelland Award in Pure Math (endowment, University of Waterloo).
