Obituary of John Armstrong

<h1>John Armstrong</h1> PEng 1944 – 2009 Passed away peacefully after a long illness, at the Freeport Health Centre, Kitchener on June 2nd, 2009 at the age of 64 years. Lovingly remembered by his wife Lorraine; his daughters Heather, Suzanne and Carolyn; his sons-in-law Damien Galt and Martin Eisenloeffel; and by his granddaughters Madeleine and Lauren. Beloved brother to Pat (deceased) and Frank Best, and Betty and Mike Rogers. Son of the late Olivia (nee Weeks) and William Armstrong. John will also be missed by his extended family, friends and colleagues. John was a professional engineer and a teacher, and longtime choir member at Trinity United in Kitchener and then Aurora United Church. He loved the outdoors, gardening, classical music, his Volvos, and Lorraine’s homemade apple pie. Special thanks to the caring staff of UT3 at Freeport, and of the ICU at Southlake Regional Health Centre. Thanks also to the ALS Society of Ontario for all their support of John and his family. Friends are invited to share their memories of John with his family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Thursday, June 4th 2009 from 6pm to 9pm. A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be held on Saturday, June 6th 2009 at 11am at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 32 Mosley St, Aurora. A committal service will be held at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo on Saturday, June 6th 2009 at 5:30pm.
