Passed away peacefully in his hometown province of Saskatchewan on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the age of 89.
Dear father of Larry (Carol), the late Val Fournier (Réal), Alan (Sue), Karl (Darlene), Ann Nash (Michael), Terry (Michele), Shirley Nguyen (Thanh Ho), Harold (Mary), Roger (Charlene), and Cindi Dunne (Gary). Proud grandfather of 28 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dear brother to Aleada and Bertha and brother-in-law to Doreen. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Predeceased by his first wife, Alice (nee LaFontaine) in 1977; his second wife, Hilda (nee Bissonnette) in 2004; his brother, Fred; and his sisters, Audrey and Rose.
Helmot was a Veteran of the Second World War and was Supervisor in the Kitchener Post Office for 19 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Helmot at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, June 23 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Helmots life will be held at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 49 Queen St. N., Kitchener on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 11 a.m. with Bishop Ralph Spence officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
