<h1>Carl Nezny</h1> 1930 – 2009 Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on Friday, June 19, 2009 at the age of 78. Loving husband and best friend for 57 years to Pat (nee Dalton); Cherished Pop of Cathy Thompson and her husband Dave, Paul Nezny and his wife Kelly both of Kitchener; and Paddi Carter and her husband Ian of Stittsville. Beloved Pop to Chris Nezny and his friend Dana, Melissa Nezny and her fiancée Chris, Josh Nezny, Mathew Carter, Jaclyn Carter and Jesse Thompson. Always the devoted Pop it brought great pride and joy to Carl to watch his kids play sports and then his grandkids play hockey, T-ball, baseball, soccer and football. Paul, Ian and Dave will greatly miss their cribbage buddy who in 2008 obtained his first perfect hand. Also sadly missed by his long time friends, Jackie and Ken and June and Leo. Survived by his brother, Dennis Nezny; sister-in law, Mitzie Michael and her husband Dave and brother-in-law, Ron Dalton and his wife Mabel. Predeceased by his parents, Sgt. Alexander and Vera Nezny and in-laws, Delores and Gordon Dalton. Carl was an avid gardener and along with his wife Pat received many acknowledgements and tributes through the Kitchener in Bloom program for their beautiful gardens. Until his early retirement in 1981 Carl was employed with Lear Corp. Friends are invited to share their memories of Carl with his family at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be said at 8:45 p.m. At Carl’s request cremation has taken place. The Memorial Mass to celebrate Carl’s life will be held at St Aloysius RC Church, 11 Traynor Ave., Kitchener, on Wednesday, June 24, at 1 p.m. The Rev. Wojciech Kuzma as Celebrant. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Donna Ward for her care and compassion; Drs Boutell, Pace, McKinnon. and Moolman, Carol Gunsch, Fran at the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, Guy Wellhauser, Heather, Kathy Lepp; the 6th floor nursing staff at Grand River Hospital and the nursing staff at Freeport for their kindness, compassion and care provided to Carl.
