<h1>Anthony "Tony" Fackoury</h1> 1926 – 2009 Passed away peacefully, with his loving family at his side, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Husband of Joan (Shantz) for 54 years. Loving father of Steve, Mark and his wife Anita, Andrea Hilker and her husband Ron, Donna Meagher and her husband Jim. Tony had seven grandchildren who he truly loved. They are John, Mark Jr. and Rachel Fackoury, Nathan and Renée Hilker and Sean and Hannah Meagher. Dear brother of Rita Gregory and her husband Harry. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Emily and Joseph Fackoury along with his sisters Elaine Dorkan, Eva Reiner and Teresa Bunnage. Tony was a well known and respected figure in the local construction industry for over 40 years. His latter years were spent working with his son at Fackoury’s Building Supplies where he retired in 1997. Tony was also an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1504, the Seniors Members Club and a member of St. Teresa’s R.C. Parish. Friends are invited to share their memories of Tony with his family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Friday, June 19, 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held at 8:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Teresa’s RC Church, 44 Leonard Street, Kitchener, on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. David Lewis as Celebrant. Tony’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Tam and Delaney, Dr. Moolman, Dr. Keleher, Comcare, Team 6 Care Partners, Fr. Lewis, and all the nurses and staff at the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre and the Freeport Health Centre.
