Obituary of Grant Niergarth

Grant Niergarth
June 27, 1947 – June 14, 2008 It is with great sadness that Grant’s family announces his passing, surrounded by his loving family, after nearly a year-long struggle with cancer. Grant was a proud 40 year member of the Plumbers’ and Steamfitters’ Local Union 527. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and his many retirement projects. He will always be remembered by his beloved wife Linda of 38 years, his daughter Tami (Chris), his son Shawn (Tammy), and his precious grandchildren Kaitlyn, Hailey, Sydney Landry, and Dakota, Skylar Niergarth. He will be sadly missed by brothers Wayne (Rose), Roger (Sharon), sister Janice (Tony) Hopp, sister-in-law Jean (John) Weber, brother-in-law Dennis (Linda) Schultz, parents-in-law Florence and Heinz Galland and his many nieces and nephews. To honour Grant’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family burial service. We invite all family and friends to join us for a Celebration of Grant’s Life Reception on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 from 12 noon to 2 pm at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South in Waterloo. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters by contacting the funeral home at 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com
